首場電視政見發表會昨晚登場，民進黨總統候選人蔡英文及國民黨總統候選人朱立倫在經濟、兩岸議題隔空駁火；蔡重批馬政府每天只想搞「小確幸」，朱直攻蔡兩國論、台獨黨綱，反觀沙場老將、親民黨總統候選人宋楚瑜即使左打藍右罵綠，仍慘遭邊緣化，被晾一旁。
發言表現部分，蔡英文聲音略顯沙啞，但語調平穩，神情略顯嚴肅，雖不時低頭看稿，仍以強烈措辭質疑執政黨施政失敗；朱立倫發言流暢，不時緊盯鏡頭，在質問綠營政策時，還轉向蔡英文，攻擊意味濃；至於宋楚瑜仍維持一貫穩健，配合手勢講述理念。
會後被問及有無被邊緣化之感，宋楚瑜說，他不覺得被忽略，還認為蔡、朱稱讚他的政策。不過，他打趣說，嚴格講，藍綠目前各陷入黨產、炒地皮等爭議，親民黨沒黨產，更沒搞軍宅，也沒所謂「宋式家族」炒地皮，被邊緣化是「好家在（指好事）」。
針對表現，朱立倫說，還是要加油，他是真實表現，讓選民比較兩黨在經濟、政策上的不同；朱質疑蔡迴避問題，「她的答案就是沒答案」。
媒體追問，政見會炮火四射宛如辯論會，朱說，係因蔡主席先提問，他就順勢回答、追問，他也反批蔡的經濟策略是2000年時代老策略，而蔡兩岸政策也維持一貫模糊、都是空。
不過，蔡英文會後受訪表示，她花了將近10分鐘說明兩岸政策，未料朱仍拿國民黨一貫老調談兩岸，朱自稱是國民黨新生代，卻老調重彈，令人擔心、失望；至於會場表現，蔡英文說，「給大家來評分吧！」
被問特別花時間講述兩岸政策，蔡英文說，各界都關心（兩岸政策），政見發表會有較長時間完整說明。媒體詢問為何一直看稿？蔡說，兩岸的事希望較完整、精確。
